Religious understanding is really a very private matter and not a public one. Their very private understanding people time by time compare with the understanding postulated by officials e. g. by bishops. Doing that, several differences get visible. Interested people join in groups and then recognize, that there are a lot of matters which in common are evaluated as irritation and open question. Matters were differences between people’s and church’s understanding are recognized.

Of course official church representatives like bishops cannot decide what’s really doctrine and what’s not. This only can be decided and fixed by the pope in Rome.

Only people which agree with the official paradigms are really devout, all others are in reality doubting and infidel. Doubting people either need to be converted (even by force, see history) or must be locked out. In any case really faithful people need to be protected from the infidel group. As far as good…

The question is, why has a rather large group a really wrong understanding in believe. Because the bulk of religious understanding is shaped during the early life periods, one could suppose that information transfer at this age is either incomplete or even deliberate manipulation. Growing up, people start analyzing circumstances and fix the problems mentioned above.

One may ask, is the incomplete or even wrong understanding result of deliberate manipulation or are church teachers themselves victims of manipulation or is it the “teaching plan” which requires certain fixed steps (maybe providing unconscious manipulation)?

Traditional religious attributes are: goodness, forgiving, honesty, love for one’s fellow men, help in difficult situations, sharing things, etc.

After the mentioned analysis other attributes arise and produce questions.

The job of the clergymen is called doing pastoral duties. Their main message is: dear faithful, be in this life honest, undemanding and obey, you will earn rich reward on the other side. The soul constitution of above mentioned infidels seem not to be undemanding and obeying enough. ..

The poor infidel has a dilemma, but the spectacle bishops act in public, still amplifies. Instead of answers, new and the problems intensifying questions arise. The style of bishop’s discussion makes forget the doubting faithful, that the matters bishops talk about are the same like theirs. But what we can’t accuse bishops, to be able to enter the questions confused faithful are asking and furthermore the recognizable will to contribute in clearing up these questions…

In front of that background, several contexts get visible. For instance, the attacks popular priests were exposed. These priests understood their pastoral duties like simple people understand, but incorrect in terms of the official church’s mind. This made them evidence of infidelity and their heads the bishops had of course to blame them fairly…

After a certain self assessment, what’s the way out for the former faithful and now doubting ones? They will think about leaving the church and that’s really happening frequently. But because the mills of god rather work slowly, there is no “Rome based” concept to interfere with this trend of people leaving the catholic church.

One final hint: If you think about leaving the church, be aware that the pastoral taxes you pay, are also used for the maintenance of cultural substance. Those who believe, that contribution in cultural maintenance is part of citizens duties, should only leave mentally but not officially. God bless you…
